The Michael Nesmith memoir is wonderful - thinking about why I love reading memoirs and autobiographies - so see what people overcame, the mistakes they (admitted) they made, the lessons they learned and the successes they achieved... It's exciting to see what a human chooses to distill and reduce to writing, and what I can glean from it.

I'd say that in addition to Nesmith's book, Graham Nash's memoir, and Jorma Kakonen's are stand-out, as well as Carole King's.

I think about this quite a bit - sometimes someone references diary notes for their writing, other times, people might have taken tape recorded interviews, etc. as sources (for themselves). I suspect most celebrities, musicians, have a ghostwriter or an editor that heavily assists, or not.

And I always am looking for the over-arching story.

Michael Nesmith was an only child of a single mother. And she became a super wealthy business person (liquid paper) and died at 56.

Trail blazers, rebels, people with a lot to overcome, miracles and accidents. All part of life. Love the little slices presented to me on the page.

Haiku? (upcoming weekend) I'm too wordy.

I need to do a double-stack Haiku with creamy filling in the middle.
