Stuffing my mouth
with
yesterday's leftover movie popcorn

I make my own Mythology

This greasy right hand
a half and hour before
was fondling cashmere
alpaca
fine wool and leather

sorting through 35 years of coats

loading up the back of my car

to deliver to the consignment shop tomorrow

It's the day after Christmas
Boxing Day

not entirely certain what that myth is

however I might create one
distant memory of the servants
changing places with the Lord and Lady

Today do I put on a white apron?

kneel and scrub the kitchen floor

change my name?

make my way to the carriage, loaded up with trunks, to pass the story on...
